Video Premiere: Variations on a Balkan Rhythm

Another percussion video premiere on I CARE IF YOU LISTEN. This time it is Variations on a Balkan Rhythm by Nick Bonaccio, performed by Peter Ferry, directed and edited by Cooper Vacheron.

The interplay between the video edit and the music is really gripping and Ferry’s performance is stellar.

Some background

More, taken from the background and performance notes:

Variations on a Balkan Rhythm is a set of musical variations on the traditional Southeastern European folk song Sedi Donka. This dance music originated in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv in Thrace, a region of bounded by the Balkan Mountains, the Rhodope Mountains, and the Black Sea.
